Oceanic Property Valuations is not a subsidiary of any firms that have their primary interests in real estate sales and leasing. Accordingly, our clients’ interests always come first.
The primary focus of Oceanic Property Valuations is to provide a national business collective that serves the Australian marketplace and to market Oceanic Property Valuations as a leading group of independent valuation practices in Australia to existing and prospective clients.
Oceanic Property Valuations (OPV) was originally conceived in Victoria in late 2016 and was founded in 2017 with the intention of bringing together a group of specialist state based property valuation firms for the benefit of international business co-operation, and promoting and developing excellence and best practices within similar boutique real estate valuation firms.
Oceanic Property Valuations is a corporate alliance of independent state based valuation firms in Australia. The organisation is responsible to a Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Committee.
The organisation has been established as a professional expertise merger of five founding Partner Firms comprising five offices and over 25 key property professionals and qualified valuers plus support staff that provide comprehensive property valuations throughout Australasia.
The Partner Firms are all well-established within the respective states and they have been providing professional property valuations for decades across Australia.
The primary focus of Oceanic Property Valuations is to provide a national business alliance that serves the Australian marketplace and to market Oceanic Property Valuations as a leading group of independent valuation practices in Australia to existing and prospective clients.
This Alliance allows Partner Firms to participate in international portfolio assignments and premium tender opportunities and to provide co-ordinated property reporting to major clients with a uniform professional business standard. This participation underpins the financial costs of the alliance membership.
Oceanic Property Valuations provides property valuations for property owners and investors and the property service sector to ensure best property decision making to maximise returns from property use, occupation and investment.
Oceanic Property Valuations is a national organisation committed to achieving and maintaining the highest professional standards, the enhancement of professional services, and improvement of the efficiency and profitability of the Partner Firms through exchange of specialised property data, professional skills and management techniques.
In addition, the organisation continues to promote professional development within the firms with the implementation of best practice standards. OPV has monthly business co-ordination and development meetings, and bi-annual property seminars where members have the opportunity to participate in professional development programs and discuss business issues relevant to the valuation and property professions.
OPV also continually explores a wide range of commercial advantages to its partner firms. This encompasses investigating economies of scale opportunities in professional development, information technology, professional indemnity insurance and business expenses.
Membership of Oceanic Property Valuations (OPV) is exclusively based having regard to a firm’s reputation, area of service, level of expertise, and professionalism.
Membership of OPV has involved a rigorous screening process. Valuation staff of each member firm are required to be registered (if applicable) and to be Certified Practising Valuers of the Australian Property Institute or Chartered Surveyor / Valuer members of RICS and all valuers must have completed the relevant Institute risk management module. The application process also involved a review of sample valuation reports submitted by the prospective firms to the Executive Committee.
In simple form, the Partner Firms will continue to trade under their existing business names but will be co-branded as members of ‘Oceanic Property Valuations’ and will complete OPV valuations under the licenced OPV entity company for each member.
The Partner firms are categorised based on firm size (employees and turnover), skill base, geographic coverage and business contribution attributes. The partner firm categories are:
Principal Partners are the larger firms that contribute most to the alliance through being in the major capital cities and dispersed geographically in strategic regions across Australia and who will play a key central role to underpinning the national network alliance.
